The interval from getting a confirmation of pregnancy to the delivery and the first few months after delivering a baby can be daunting for the lady and the family. Our team of consultants and midwives take care of the situation from day one. Consultant obstetricians are firmly in charge of the process all the way through, but midwives are the team that form the backbone of obstetric practice at freya. Unlike general nurses. they are specially trained to take care of all aspects of pregnancy and provide hand holding support from the first consultation to the post-partum period. They are complimented by our support time of dietitians, yoga and exercise instructors and lactation consultants.

Unlike almost any modern healthcare system anywhere in the world, pregnancy in most parts of India ends in a caesarean section. This is both unnecessary and dangerous. Nature has devised processes for childbirth which work quite well generally without any human intervention. There are benefits to both mother and baby in a normal childbirth. Also, caesarean section even with all modern technology at hand is a major surgery and may have significant complications.
